This Tulip Mug by Kaola Studio is a joyful, painterly expression of modern Polish pottery, created in the Impressionist style, sometimes referred to by collectors as the Unity pattern. Hand-formed and hand-painted in Bolesławiec, Poland, this mug is a Limited Edition 2025 piece, signed on the bottom by artist P. Pachum.
Bold blocks of color—sunny yellow, cobalt blue, leafy green, and warm red—interlock across the surface in an abstract, mosaic-like composition. Dots, stripes, curves, and organic shapes come together in a balanced whole, reflecting the “unity” theme that gives the pattern its name. The black-outlined forms and expressive brushwork give the mug a distinctly artistic, almost folk-modern feel.
The classic tulip silhouette flares gently at the rim for comfortable sipping, while the hand-painted handle and interior details show Kaola’s hallmark attention to craftsmanship. Each mug is truly one of a kind, with natural variations that celebrate the artist’s hand.
